Front Door - #12 of 30

"Front Door" - 10x10 - Oil on Canvas
"Puerta Principal " - 25x25 cm - Oleo

Well, today we are going back to Venice. It is very interesting  to see people's front doors, lots of them step out right onto the water. Lots of house have boards across their doors to keep the water out when the levels rise. Quite a different lifestyle that"s for sure!  Images like this are just about everywhere you look.
I was specially attracted in this image to the colours, the green water and the soft wall colours. Lots of houses look like they need some finishing and painting which is excellent for painting textures :) I am pretty pleased with the result, I wanted to leave it loose and I like the feel of the painting. Something else unique in Venice is the fact that nothing is square or straight, probably due to the settling. Most church bell towers are leaning, whole buildings are completely crooked. Didn't need to fuss too much with the lines then today to make it look "authentic" :)

Bueno, hoy volvemos a Venecia.
