"Nona's Patio" - 6x6 - Oil on Canvas "El Patio de la Nona" - 15x15cm - Oleo |
It is very interesting through this 30 day painting process to observe how I tackle things differently each day according to my mood. Some days I have the patience to do more detailed and/or precise work, some other days, I should just do big blobs of colour as I have zero patience for correcting! Today is the latter. :)
I like the little story that can come up from this scene, we can imagine how many dinners and chats have happened at this table.
This came from a place we stayed at in Tuscany, North of Rome in a tiny town called Scansano close to Maremma. We stayed at a convent (Convento del Preteto) built in the 1300's which has been turned into apartments. Very Cool!

ReplyDeleteBut you have captured the pots of Geraniums perfectly with such simple 'blobs' - I think this is a lovely atmospheric painting.
Thank you Ed!
DeleteWonderful use of color and atmosphere!
ReplyDeleteThank you Tammie! It was a beautiful spot for sure and a good exercise to eliminate the unnecessary information in the small format :)
