There are several yachting clubs that have races on Sunday mornings..... They often have the Olympic Mountain Range in the States as a backdrop and they look just beautiful!

Hay varios  club de yate  en Victoria y suelen tener carreras los domingo por la mañana..... A menudo tienen de fondo las Montañas Olímpicas en EEUU y es una vista muy hermosa!

This painting was inspired by a previous painting of mine of the huge fog bank that sometimes sits in between the Olympic Mountains in the US and our island. Sometimes it's really thick and sits there the whole day. I need to look at this painting some more, it may get some changes, haven't decided yet. I actually I do that with all of them but  usually prefer to do it at the end of the 30 days once I have had a chance to rest from them and look at them more objectively.

La inspiración para este cuadro surgió de un anterior que yo había pintado del enorme banco de niebla que suele ocurrir entre las Montañas Olímpicas en los EEUU y nuestra Isla de Vancouver. Muchas veces es enorme y está durante todo el día. Tengo que mirar este cuadro un poco más, tal vez le haga algunos cambios, no lo he decidido todavía. En realidad hago eso con todos, pero prefiero hacerlo al final de los 30 días una vez que he tenido tiempo de descansar y puedo mirar lo que he echo de forma mas objetiva.

This is the second painting I did that Friday a couple of weeks ago at Saxe Point, I had some time left, not enough to get engaged in a larger piece but enough to roughly sketch something. As always, there are so many paintings to be painted in each location, I just moved my easel and I had something completely different, different light, different palette. I like how this one came together,  specially the  softness of the fog bank. I finished it in the studio where I added some touches of light.

Este es el segundo cuadro que pinté hace un par de semanas en Saxe Point. Tenía un poco de tiempo, no lo suficiente para empezar uno grande pero si para bosquejar algo. Como siempre, hay tantos cuadros para pintar en cada lugar! Simplemente moví mi atril un poco y estaba mirando a un cuadro completamente  diferente, diferentes colores, diferente luz. Me gusta cómo quedó este, especialmente la niebla. Lo terminé una vez de vuelta en el taller donde le agregué un par de luces.

Plein-Air Friday...... Weather was iffy, wasn't raining but it was very windy and I knew it would be even windier at Clover Point, the assigned location for the day, where it is very exposed . But of course  I went anyway and of course I get there to find Dave almost finished!! Charlie and Marie were the other ones that actually set up and painted in the wind. Brian sketched.  It was beautiful day after all, not very cold but indeed windy. (Thank you Joanne and Brian for the pics!)

As always there are quite a few things I like I about the painting but then there are a few other ones unresolved, I am not keen on the clouds, will let it be for today as I have ran out of time (the family wants to eat dinner???), but I may change a few things tomorrow.  Enjoy your weekend everyone!!

By the end, tide was coming up and the waves were starting to get us., Time to pack up!

Viernes para pintar afuera.... el tiempo estaba medio, medio, sin lluvia pero con mucho viento y yo sabía que el Clover Point, el lugar elegido para hoy, iba a haber mucho mas viento ya que está muy expuesto. Fui lo mismo por supuesto y cuando llegué encontré a Dave ya casi terminando!! Charlie y Marie, fueron los otros 2 artistas que pintaron en el viento! Brian  hizo bosquejos.  Fue un día hermoso al final, con viento pero no mucho frio. (Gracias Joanne and Brian por las fotos)

Como siempre algunas cosas que me gustan en el cuadro y hay otras que no están resueltas todavía... no me gustan las nubes mucho, voy a dejarlo como está hoy, se me acabó el tiempo (La familia tiene que comer también!)  pero tal vez cambie algunas cosas mañana. Que pasen buen fin de semana todos!
