I'm ready for the 2018 TD Art Gallery Paint In!

Add caption

I am ready! The 2018 TD Art Gallery Paint In is finally here and I am excited to be a part of it! Each year I do a mock up of my set up in the driveway so that  I know exactly where everything goes when I show up on Saturday morning, there's no deciding where each painting goes or where to put things, all this helps me reduce the stress levels the morning of the event! Over 170 Artists will be at this wonderful outdoor event, you will be able to see many kinds of art, demos and for sure find something to your liking. I'm including a full map and tips for visitors below. I will be artist 116 on Moss Street between May and George.  It is closer to Dallas Rd than to Fort St. The event goes from 11 to 4. Hope to see you there!

Estoy lista! Espero verlos!

Moving and Invitation to 2018 Moss Street Paint In

I have been quite silent here for a while and in stead of trying to explain and getting you all caught up, I'll just pick up where we left and keep going. I want to start blogging from my own website blogging capabilities instead of blogger where I have been for many years so I'll publish the same post on  both for a while until I do the permanent move. If you receive my posts in your inbox there's no need to do anything yet.I will just start doing it instead of waiting to have everything sorted out and organized, sometimes if we wait for everything to be perfect, things never happen!

So with that, I'd just like to invite you all to please join me at the 31st TD Art Gallery Paint-In! Over 190 artists will bring their studio to Moss Street this coming Saturday July 21– and I'm excited to have been selected to be one of them!

I will be artist #116 on the artist map which will be on the East side of Moss St, between May and George, at approx. 119 Moss St. Please come and say hi, it will be great to meet you and/or see you again! For more information please visit: TD Art Gallery Paint In.

Patio Roses & 2017 TD Moss Street Paint In

Patio Roses - 8x10 - Oil on Exhibition Canvas
"Rosa del Patio" - 20x25cm - Oleo
$160
Unframed

Available

Back a few months ago when it was cold and miserable I bought this beautiful mini rose bush, planted in a terracota pot and put it on my patio table. It was such a hopeful splash of colour at the time! I knew I had to paint it before I cut it back so it would regain its strength. Later on in the Spring, just in the nick of time before they started loosing all the petals, I set up the easel outside by the patio table and enjoyed painting these warm colours.

This one as well as many other paintings, some from my recent painting trip to Ashcroft and previous trips to Hawaii and Mexico will be available at the 2017 TD Moss Street Paint In. I am very honoured to have been selected again this year to be a part of it. This coming Saturday July 15th, from 11 till 4, I'll be at spot #149 in between Minto and Richardson. Hope to see you there, it is a WONDERFUL event attended every year by around 30,000 people, I can guarantee you you'll find a piece of art to your liking since there is everything under the sun! Below is the map and here is a link to the Artists Map in case you want to print it at home or take a look before you go. See you!!

*****

Moss Street

Trying to get something on the board as I chat to people, didn't get very far with it!
Tratando de poner algo de pintura en mi panel, no llegué a hacer mucho!!

I am sorry it took me so long to post this but to be honest, I ended up the day so so tired that it took me a few days to recover  and only today I am finding time to get this post done but Wow! What a great day Moss Street Paint In was! It was wonderful to see old friends, meet new ones and share my art with people. The weather cooperated this year, not too hot, not too cold, not too breezy, just perfect!

Chatting with a young artist who was telling me her favourite things to paint:)

My lovely daughter Camila helped me set up in the morning and I had help and support from dear hubby and son later on.  It's just amazing how in just a short time the space is totally transformed.

The before picture - Organized chaos!
La foto del antes - Caos organizado!

When we get there in the morning, it is complete chaos but I am so happy that again this year I  did a dry-run at home a couple of days before the event. (Idea taken form Crystal Moody's blog a couple of years ago). I had taken pictures  of the set up  so on the morning of the event we knew exactly where everything was going to go. There isn't usually a ton of time to set up (I personally didn't want to go at 6 am to figure out were each painting looked best) so I loved  having that blueprint ahead of time.

Thank you so much to all the people that purchased paintings, cards and prints! And thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone that stopped by and expressed how much they loved my art, whether they took one home or not,  it just warms my heart to see first hand people's reaction to my art.
Thank you also to the Art Gallery of Greater Victoria for organizing this wonderful event and the hundreds of volunteers that make the day possible. More than 30,000 people showed up to soak up the art all around.

Oh and Thank you Opus Art Supplies as well for the goodie bag they dropped off!! Loved it!!

Me encantó!!

More than 30,000 people took to the streets and enjoyed art!
Mas de 30.000 personas vinieron a disfrutar arte!

The start of my "fan club" as you can see I have "piles" of them.  Thank you Calgarians for coming to see me!!

I hope to be there again next year! :) Thank you for stopping by my blog!

Successful Day!

2015 Moss Street Paint In

The demo I couldn't too much to because of talking to so many people!
I loved meeting so many new people!
Me  encantó conocer a tanta gente!

My crew! Mi Equipo!

Wow!! What an incredible day! I was thrilled (and exhausted) at the end of my first TD 2015 Moss Street Paint In! It was a truly successful day, I sold several originals, got a couple of commissions and sold a bunch of cards which is all great.... but the best part of all was the people. Seeing people's faces as they looked at my art was the highlight of my day. It is absolutely wonderful when people connect to certain pieces. The streets were packed, I saw lots of people I hadn't seen in a long time and met lots of new people as well.  I will definitely do it again. Special thanks to Sherry Willing, all the organizing team and the hundred of volunteers that make this event run so smoothly! Thank you Art Gallery of Greater Victoria! Thank you friends that came to visit me and to my family who is not only always supporting me but also helping me lots!

Wow!!

Shell Beach - #159

"Shell Beach" - 8x8 - Oil on Birch Panel
"Playa Blanca" -20x20 cm - Oleo
SOLD

Life has been so busy these last couple of months! It's like everything  picked up speed and I have been just trying to stay on track. The end of the school year meant lots of school functions especially with a graduating daughter.  Where has time gone by????  It's like yesterday I was taking her first day of school photo in front of our front door! My parents from Argentina are here visiting, we continue to unpack the house and I am getting ready for a big art event I am part of on July 18th. The Moss Street Paint-In organized by the Art Gallery of Greater Victoria. More on that on another post!
I have been painting and working on my art but haven't been posting. This one was painted on May long weekend. The first sailing trip of the summer took us to Montague in Galiano Island. I have always loved the white shell beach there and my purpose with this painting when I set up my plein-air box that day was mainly to capture the colours. I am very satisfied with the feeling of the painting, it stayed fresh and sketchy.
Thanks for visiting! Off to bake a cake, my baby is 18 today!! Happy Birthday Camila!!

*****

He estado tan ocupada estos últimos meses!
He estado pintando pero no he tenido tiempo de escribir mucho.
Feliz Cumple Camila!!!
