Wow!! What an incredible day! I was thrilled (and exhausted) at the end of my first TD 2015 Moss Street Paint In! It was a truly successful day, I sold several originals, got a couple of commissions and sold a bunch of cards which is all great.... but the best part of all was the people. Seeing people's faces as they looked at my art was the highlight of my day. It is absolutely wonderful when people connect to certain pieces. The streets were packed, I saw lots of people I hadn't seen in a long time and met lots of new people as well.  I will definitely do it again. Special thanks to Sherry Willing, all the organizing team and the hundred of volunteers that make this event run so smoothly! Thank you Art Gallery of Greater Victoria! Thank you friends that came to visit me and to my family who is not only always supporting me but also helping me lots!

Wow!! Que día increíble! Estube súper contenta (y exhausta) al final de mi primer Pintada de Moss Street! Fue un día indudablemente de mucho éxito. Vendí varios originales, recibí un par de pedidos especiales y vendí un montón de tarjetas. Eso todo muy bueno pero la mejor parte del día fue la gente. Fue muy especial ver la cara de las personas mientras miraban mis cuadros. Es hermoso cuando uno ve que alguien hace una conexión especial con ciertas piezas. Las calles estaban llenas de gente, vi mucha gente que hacia mucho no veía y conocí mucha gente nueva. Seguro que si lo quiero hacer de nuevo! Un agradecimiento muy especial para Sherry Willing, a todo su equipo de organización y a todos los voluntarios que hacen que este evento se desarrolle tan bien. Gracias Galería de Arte de Victoria! Y muchas gracias a todos mis amigos que vinieron a verme y a mi familia por siempre alentarme y ayudarme tanto!

Went out for dinner last night and look at what I found!!! It was fun, never thought I would see yself on a post!

I am almost ready for the Moss Street Paint In happening tomorrow, July 18, 11 to 4 pm. I just need to do a couple of things, like print the image I will be painting from for my demo, just in case what I see in front of me is not so inspiring! I will be in spot 141 not 142 as I mentioned before. I have never been ready for an event with so much time to spare, probably it is because I have had my mom and dad here for a few weeks visiting and they are taking care of a whole bunch of stuff that I don't need to even think about, like watering the flower beds or folding laundry! Thank you Mom and Dad for all your help! Below is a map for all the artists placements. Do come and enjoy this wonderful artful day, bring good walking shoes and plenty of water as it is supposed to be a hot day! Good luck to all my friends in it as well. :)

Salí a cenar anoche y miren lo que enconté en la calle!! Nunca me imaginé que iba a verme en un poste!

Ya estoy casi lista para la Pintada de Moss Street que ocurre manana 18 de Julio de 11 a 4 pm. Sólo me quedan un par de cosas que hacer, como imprimir la imagen de la que voy a pintar, en caso de que lo que tenga en frente no me de mucha inspiración! Voy a estar en lugar 141 no 142como había dicho anteriormente. Nunca he estado lista para un evento con tanto tiempo de anticipación. Es probable que sea entre otras cosas sea porque mi papá y mamá están de visita desde hace unas semanas y ellos se encargan de muchas cosas por las que yo no tengo que ni preocuparme como regar las plantas y guardar la ropa lavada! Gracias Mamá y Papá por todo su ayuda! Abajo hay un mapa de la ubicación de todos los artistas que participan. Vengan a disfrutar de este día de arte maravilloso, traigan zapatos cómodos y mucha agua ya que va a hacer calor! Buena surte para todos mis amigos artistas mañana! :)

Moss Street Paint In

How about that!!!???  A while back the Art Gallery of Greater Victoria sent an email asking if you wanted to be included in a new marketing campaign they had in mind for the Paint In which would showcase a few artists. I sent a response saying "Sure, you can include me!".  What I didn't realize is that it all entailed a professional photo shoot and all and I do not like to get my photo taken! But it was fun in the end and it is quite odd to see myself on signs posts downtown now!!!
This week I am getting ready for it all.  The TD Moss Street Paint-In is this coming up Saturday July 18 from 11 to 4 pm. If you have never been to it, it is a wonderful day FULL of art for all tastes. There are about 166 artists this year that line Moss Street from Fort to Dallas Road. I will be doing  a demo of course and I will have some art cards as well as  a few of my smaller paintings. I will be in spot#142, around 645 Moss St. between Richardson and Minto St.)    Make sure you stop by and say hi!

Que tal???!!! Hace un tiempo la Galería de Arte de Victoria mandó un mensaje preguntando quién quería ser incluído en una campaña de publicidad para la Pintada. Mandé mi respuesta diciendo "Seguro que pueden usarme!" Lo que no me dí cuenta fue que  todo esto incluía una sesión profesional de fotografía y a mi no me gusta que me saquen fotos. Pero al final fue bastante divertdio y ahora es raro verme en carteles en el centro!!!
Me estoy preparando esta semana para este evento. La Pintada de Moss Street del 2015 es este sábado que viene, 18 de Julio de 11 a 4  de la tarde. Si no han ido nunca, es un día hermoso LLENO de arte para todos los gustos. Hay alrededor de 166 artistas este año que están en la calle desde Fort. St. hasta Dallas Rd.  Voy a estar pintando por supuesto y voy a tener tarjetas y algunos cuadros chicos. Voy a estar en el lugar #142 que está cerca de Richardson (mas o menos en Moss Street al 645, entre Rchardson y Minto)  Pasen a  saludar si pueden!!

Life has been so busy these last couple of months! It's like everything  picked up speed and I have been just trying to stay on track. The end of the school year meant lots of school functions especially with a graduating daughter.  Where has time gone by????  It's like yesterday I was taking her first day of school photo in front of our front door! My parents from Argentina are here visiting, we continue to unpack the house and I am getting ready for a big art event I am part of on July 18th. The Moss Street Paint-In organized by the Art Gallery of Greater Victoria. More on that on another post!
I have been painting and working on my art but haven't been posting. This one was painted on May long weekend. The first sailing trip of the summer took us to Montague in Galiano Island. I have always loved the white shell beach there and my purpose with this painting when I set up my plein-air box that day was mainly to capture the colours. I am very satisfied with the feeling of the painting, it stayed fresh and sketchy.

He estado tan ocupada estos últimos meses! Es como que la vida se ha acelerado y lo único que hago es tratar de seguir el ritmo. El fin del año escolar llegó con muchos eventos relacionados con la escuela especialmente ya que mi hija se graduó este año! Cómo ha pasado el tiempo!! Me parece que fue ayer cuando le saqué la fotos del primer día de clases paradita en frente de la puerta de nuestra casa! Mi padres de Argentina están de visita, seguimos desarmando cajas de la mudanza y me estoy preparando para un evento  de arte muy grande que hay el 18 de Julio, la pintada de Moss Street organizada por la Galería de Arte de Victoria. Les cuento mas sobre esto en otro post.

He estado pintando pero no he tenido tiempo de escribir mucho. Este cuadrito lo pinté el fin de semana largo en Mayo. El primer viaje de la temporada en el velero nos llevó a Montague en la Isla Galiano. Siempre me ha gustado muchísimo la playa blanca que hay ahí.  Mi meta con este cuadro ese día fue capturar los colores mas que nada y estoy muy satisfecha ya que el cuadro tiene espontaeidad y no está supertrabajado.
