'Mesmerizing" was a painting inspired by our Hawaii trip last March, I mean..... how can you NOT be inspired by those colours??? They are so incredible, I can't wait to go back!
I am very happy that to be part of an exhibit at the Royal Jubilee Hospital with Lisa Riehl and  Sharlene Stushnov-Lee. We are sharing the walls just off the Patient Care Centre at the Hospital. I'm pleased this painting has sold as a result of that exhibit.  It was also wonderful to hear so many people walk by as we were hanging the work and express how much joy they get from the artwork displayed there. So glad, that's what it's all about, isn't it??!!

"Hipnotizante"fue un cuadro inspirado por nuestro viaje a Hawaii en Marzo del año pasado..... Cómo puede uno no inspirarse con esos colores??? Son tan increíbles, no puedo no veo las horas de volver a ir!
Estoy muy contenta de ser parte en este momento de una muestra en el Royal Jubilee Hospital con  Lisa Riehl y Sharlene Stushnov Lee. Estamos compartiendo las paredes que están al lado del Centro para Pacientes. Estoy tambien contenta de contarles que este cuadro se ha vendido como resultado de esta muestra. Fue maravilloso escuchar todos los comentarios de la gente que pasaba, nos decían todo el tiempo cuanto aprecian el arte en las paredes!  Cómo me alegra, de eso se trata no??!!

Another beach day in Hawaii.... This was a gorgeous beach in South Maui, I wouldn't mind going back there of course :)   I am not much of a sun person so when we go to the beach it's all about being able to have some shade as well as sun, those umbrellas do the trick very nicely.  It's interesting for me to see how the first few paintings in a new location are all about getting acquainted with the local colours and shapes which are different everywhere you go.  I had fun putting the umbrellas in there and just suggestions of shapes for chairs, people and just stuff at the beach. The rocks in lots of places in Hawaii have a very special colour, they are very black/purple/brown..... lava that a long time ago came into the ocean..... crazy to think that new rocks and land are being formed all the time in the big island as the volcano keeps erupting.

Otro día de playa en Hawai.  Esta es una playa hermosísima en el sur de Maui, cómo me gustaría estar ahí de nuevo por supuesto. A mí no me gusta mucho el sol así es que cuando vamos a la playa siempre se trata de encontrar un poco de sombra  para poder refugiarnos y esas sombrillas funcionan muy bien. Es muy interesante para mí ver cómo los primeros cuadros en un lugar nuevo se tratan mas que nada de familiarizarse con los colores y las formas locales que son diferentes en todos lados. Me encantó poner las sombrillas y las sugerencias de formas para representar sillas, gente y cosas en la playa. Las rocas en muchos lugares de Hawai tienen  este color muy especial que es muy negro, morado, marrón… Pensar que es lava que hace mucho tiempo entro al océano… Es increíble pensar que en la isla grande de Hawai hay rocas y tierra nueva  que se continúa formando todo el tiempo ya que el volcán continúa en erupción.
