Day 17 of 30: "Anchored"

I believe this image was taken on the East side of Thetis Island by Penelakut Island...... When we go cruising on our sailboat around in the summer we usually travel from place to place during the day and by dinner time we have found a quiet bay to drop anchor and spend the night. Typically in  the evenings it is flat as a pancake  and we get to enjoy peace, nature and beautiful sunsets. It is also great opportunity to spend as a family, playing cards, reading and going for walks or dinghy rides (like to the other side of Thetis in between the 2 islands to Telgraph Harbour from here. There is a bakery and fresh produce place about a 10 minute walk from Telegraph Habour Marina where you can get wonderful pies, jams and baked goods!!). I really enjoyed painting this one....  Couldn't really get the colours to come through in the photo.

Creo que esta imágen fue tomada en el lado este de la  Isla Thetis Island al lado de la Isla Penelakut Island. Cuando vamos en el verano en el velero a viajar por las Isas del Golfo, normalmente navegamos durante el día para llegar a cada destino y para la hora de la cena  buscamos una bahía tranquila en la que podemos largar el ancla y pasar la noche. Normalmente, todas las tardecitas y noches son sin viento, decimos que el agua está chata como un panqueque y podemos disfrutar de la calma, la naturaleza y atardeceres hermosos. Son también buenas ocasiones para compartir en familia, jugamos a las cartas, leemos y vamos a caminar o andar en el gomón (como por ejemplo se va solo en gomón por el medio de estas dos islas al otro lado donde está Telegraph Harbour y hay una panadería y puesto a 10 minutos caminando en el que venden los mejores pasteles, mermeladas,  verduras y frutas !!) Disfruté mucho pintar este cuadro!! No pude  hacer que los colores salieran bien en la foto!

Un error muy grave es pintar solamente por el resultado final y
no simplemente por el placer de pintar! (Leanne Cadden)

Thankful finished

So here is "Thankful", the painting I did for Thanksgiving time. Even though it was not 100% finished back the, I wanted to post it because of the occasion. :)  I wanted to add a few more darks and lights and now it's ready. It's the other painting accepted into the FCA fall show happening at Goward House until November 26. Make sure you stop by, have a cup of tea and enjoy the beautiful artwork artwork in the show. I live very close to the Show so if you are planning to stop by, give me a call and we can visit and share that cup of tea ;) I have some greeting cards available as well.

Thanksgiving in Canada  happened almost a month ago and in the States is not happening for a few more weeks, we can anyway take this chance to count today AT LEAST 5 things we are thankful for!

Acá está "Agradecida", el cuadro que hice para la época de Acción de Gracias. A pesar de que no estaba terminado cuando lo puse en el blog había querido publicarlo de todas maneras en homenaje a la ocasión. Quería agregar claros y oscuros y ahora sí que está lista. Este uno de los dos cuadros aceptados en la Exhibición de Otoño de la Federación de Artistas Canadienses en Goward House hasta el 26 de Noviembre. Asegúrense de pasar a tomar una taza de té y disfrutar el hermoso arte en la muestra. Yo vivo muy cerquita de ahí así que si deciden pasar a ver la muestra, pueden avisarme y nos visitamos un rato con esa taza de té :)

El Día de Acción de Gracias ocurrió hace casi un mes aquí en Canadá  y ocurre en Estados Unidos en unas semans pero podemos de todas maneras contar por lo menos 5 cosas por las que estamos agradecidos! Hacer eso siempre es una buena práctica.
