The 3 Musketeerson the first night in Lytton Las 3 Mosqueteras en nuestra primera noche en Lytton |
The work I produced during the trip, some of them worked out :) Los cuadros que produje durante el viaje, algunos salieron bien :) |
Very good representation from the Al Frescoes Muy buena representación de los Al Frescoes |
Ashcroft is a small picturesque town with a historic downtown core where we painted on Saturday morning as the kick off for the event. We were then let lose to paint the landscape anywhere we wanted. I fell in love with the different tones of sage, light blues and greens that I could see in the mountains and vegetation. Very very very different from the colours we have here on the island. They served us a wonderful turkey dinner on Saturday night and on Sunday evening we had a small show of all the work produced during the weekend. Thank you so much Winding Rivers Society for all the food, dinners, muffins, cookies, coffee, etc that you supplied for us! It was a wonderful experience!
As we had a couple of extra days to paint, we were invited to go
up to a place called Big Bar Lake, an hour and a bit north of Ashcroft.
The landscape there was again different from Ashcroft, more green. We
stayed at our hosts Wayne and Jeanine Larsen's lakefront beautiful home
and again we painted our lives away. Thank you so much Wayne and Jeanine for being so
generous with us, yes, we are coming back next year!! I produced a total of 12 paintings, some of them need
some tweaking, a few need to be tossed and another bunch are keepers
just as they are, plein air sketches which can give me information for
future studio paintings and serve as a wonderful memory of my
experiences in the desert.
